Overcommitment

Well, here it is. I've finally screwed up royally, and as I'm overcommitted I can't do a single thing about it.

Guys, make sure you don't overcommit. First comes God, secondly family, then finally academics and co-curricular. There's no question about it. Don't make the same mistakes I did, and prioritise badly. Don't ever take anything for granted, because it's not always there.

Given that I'm now being forced by my illness to consider a life that does not revolve around the cello, it strikes me that I'm committing to a whole bunch of stuff that I really don't need. QYS is not important. Sola is not important (although it pains me to say that!). Chamber and UQ orchestra are not important either, but I can't get out of them because they're compulsory for my course.

I may negotiate dropping a few of these ensembles (in this order - QYS / Chamber / UQ orchestra / Sola, but only if I have to. I doubt I will get this bad, but... eh. Contingencies) but all in all I've realised I'm too busy. I don't even have a steady job and I'm too busy. What is money, anyway, when you don't have time to enjoy it?
