I've got the geek....

Somehow I felt like being a music critic today, so what better way to express myself than through lovely practical class reviews and lunchtime concert reviews? Much enjoyment was to be had by writing nasty scathing reviews of some horrid lunchtime concerts, and it's actually great fun reliving the whole concert business as it brought back memories of watching various piano lecturers sit there with strange expressions on their face.

Amazing piano lecturers, that is.

The pianist playing was amazingly and horrifyingly amusingly bad.

I know that I shouldn't delight in such things, but I have to admire people who are courageous (or reckless, or perhaps ignorant) enough to stand up and play an unprepared program in front of a packed hall. For a musician, not being prepared is not respecting your audience.

Similarly, as a Christian, if we are not prepared then we aren't respecting God, or our missions field. I guess what we need is MOAR TRAINING! Working on it...

  1. At the same time God doesn't demand perfection. All He demands is for us to put our trust in Him. God can use anyone with any ability and in any situation. The first question shouldn't be about how prepared we are in training, but if we're prepared to give our lives 100% to God.
