I'm really getting worried that I'm developing mannerisms of the people around me. Sometimes these mannerisms are positive (like obsessive practicing attitudes, ability to make routines) but a lot of them are not healthy, such as swearing and driving impolitely. I think it's time that I really addressed who I hang around with and who I spend my spare time with, because if these habits develop they'll be really difficult to get out of my system.
I'm also quite disillusioned with the whole symphony orchestra ideal nowadays. I don't want to be an orchestral musician because I'll be forced to play a lot of crap I don't enjoy (such is the life of someone who wants to be a modernist). Playing in a quartet is my goal, but I don't know if I can achieve this before I go do medicine, which is unfortunate. I've also rediscovered my love for playing in pit orchestras (why? the music is a bit repetitive and sometimes really cliche, but they - especially amateur groups - are always so enthusiastic and have so much fun). The Wiz was a lot of fun, and it was great to catch up with everybody at school. It also reminded me, however, that I wasn't really that much more mature than any of the guys there.
AND I FINALLY HAVE SOME VERY FAIL COOKING SKILLZ.
Over this week I've also rediscovered a friend, had a great time avoiding flowers and had a lovely day on Sunday with my mumsy. Love you, mum, although this blog is probably the one aspect of my online life that you haven't discovered yet :P HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!
